Win some and lose some. That's the name of the game when it comes to searching for talent in any given NFL draft. And there are the exceptional cases caused by injury that force a rookie to the front lines. Such was the case in 2024 for the Los Angeles Rams and then-rookie center Beaux Limmer.
A huge, powerful interior offensive lineman, it was easy to understand why general manager Les Snead selected him in Round 6 of the 2024 NFL draft. Projected off the board sooner, he was immediately viewed as a value-added pick. And his training camp, preseason, and eventual promotion as the team's starting center were proof positive that the team had landed a diamond in the rough.
But as impressive as Limmer was in 2024, he was equally as disappointing in 2025. He was demoted after the team made a point to sign former starting center Coleman Shelton. That demotion happened long before the pads went on. Rather than show up competitively, forcing the team into a difficult spot, he tanked.
His regression was so dramatic, he could be counting down his final days in LA.
Beaux knows what he must do to reclaim future with Rams
Limmer needn't read anything online to understand what he must do to reclaim a brighter future with the LA Rams. Beaux knows. He started in 2024, struggled in the playoffs, and then struggled even further in a backup role.
Step one is to turn the corner and show dramatic improvement in both performance and attitude when the team regroups for 2026 OTAs
It's not easy to be benched in the NFL. While it comes with the territory, the statement sometimes cannot be avoided as a message of 'not good enough.' For a very competitive sport of professional football, that is a message that some players struggle to accept.
Limmer was good enough in 2024 to help the team advance to the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs that year. But he was overwhelmed by the speed and physicality of the Philadelphia Eagles defensive front. He has struggled to get past that ever since.
There is little risk to carrying a young interior offensive lineman on the roster or practice squad in 2026. But Limmer must show signs of improvement. He needs to get that fire burning once more. While he certainly can do it, the jury is still out on whether he will.
Until that happens, Beaux Limmer could be counting down his days to playing in LA, and he may not even realize it.
As always, thanks for reading.
