Former Rams just stirred the Week 11 pot, and it's not who you think

A former Rams starter hinted he will play in Week 11, but deleted his message almost instantly.

The Los Angeles Rams just disposed of the rival San Francisco 49ers in a game that meant a great deal to the team. But if you wanted a less important game on the schedule to allow everyone to catch their breath, you are out of luck. The 7-2 Seattle Seahawks are next on the schedule, and they are a formidable team.

Several Rams players have landed on the Seahawks roster, and that adds several subplots to the Week 11 confrontation. Of course, the biggest name is wide receiver Cooper Kupp. But the more adversarial parting of the ways happened when Los Angeles unexpectedly traded away former inside linebacker Ernext Jones to the Tennessee Titans for next to nothing.

And fans were not pleased.

Ernest Jones has been struggling of late with an injury. But he gave strong indications that he would be suiting up and facing his former team. Well, sort of. After posting a small video of a person sitting up after a funeral, he deleted his post. But it hints that he believes he is playing after sitting out due to a knee injury.

Will Ernest Jones face the Rams in Week 11?

Ernest Jones is having a solid season for the Seattle Seahawks defense. Despite sitting out last week, he has amassed 65 tackles, three tackles for a loss, 0.5 quarterback sacks, five pass deflections, and three interceptions. While he has missed 12.2 percent of his tackles this year, he is a keystone to the defense.

Jones has the Seahawks defense performing well this season. It is ninth in yards allowed, fifth in points allowed, 19th in passing yards allowed, and third in rushing yards allowed. At the heart of the Seahawks defense roams Jones, the former starter for Los Angeles.

Should fans be concerned? There should always be an amount of healthy respect. The Seahawks defense has earned that respect. But that should not transform into fear. The Rams overcame the Houston Texans, a team with a more physical and stingy defense.

Jones may have a score to settle. But if he pushes to return when he is not fully healed, he is hurting his team. And that may have been why he deleted his tweet. Is he planning to return because he is fully healed? Or is he threatening to return for more personal reasons?

That will be decided on game day. For now, LA's offense has reformulated around 13-personnel, and it is a huge part of why the team is averaging 37.0 points over the past three games. Can Ernest Jones sustain physical play on a suspect knee with a tight end in his face on almost every play?

Stay tuned.

As always, thanks for reading.
