Is Davante Adams playing today? Rams confirm star WR status for NFC Championship

The Los Angeles Rams have faced the Seattle Seahawks twice in 2025. When Davante Adams suits up and plays, they win. When he doesn't suit up and play, they lose. But as fans scramble to read the tea leaves for the most important game that the team has played in nearly four years, can it be that simple?

Perhaps it can't.

Mother Nature has surrendered. After tossing rain and wind at LA against the Carolina Panthers, followed by wind, snow, and bitterly cold temperatures when the team faced the Chicago Bears, the weather in Seattle, Washington, is ideal. With no wind to speak of and a chilly sweater-weather afternoon, quarterback Matthew Stafford will have perfect conditions to pass the entire game.

With Stafford throwing the football, veteran wide receiver Davante Adams needs to be on the football field. Of his 46 passing touchdowns, Adams caught 14 of them. That works out to an average of 1.0 touchdowns per game. It's that contribution that makes LA's offense the top-scoring team in the NFL this season.

Rams have too much talent with Adams and Nacua playing

The LA Rams struggled to score as recently as 2024. But with veteran wide receiver Davante Adams playing, the offense has multiple scoring threats that force secondaries to choose poorly. The most obvious red zone threat is Adams himself, and he can defeat man coverage single-handedly.

If defensive backs double him, then wide receiver Puka Nacua is likely open. And if the secondary rolls the dice on doubling up both wide receivers, tight end Colby Parkinson is almost certainly an open third option. Between the trio, they scored 32 touchdowns in a combined 45 games.

Of course, nine players have caught a touchdown pass from the 37-year-old quarterback. Of that group, seven have hauled in at least three or more touchdowns. But it all starts with Adams. Without him, the offense has to be much more resourceful.

When the wily veteran receiver faced the Seahawks the first time, he only managed to catch one pass for one yard. That seems paltry when you consider he was targetted eight times. But it seems magnificent when you add the fact that he scored a touchdown on that reception. LA won that game by a score of 21-19./

This offense has other contributors whe will gain yards. Adams can do so too. But his crucial contribution comes in the red zone. In a win-or-go-home scenario, the LA Rams have won two tough contests on the road. Davante Adams gives this team a solid chance to win once more.

As always, thanks for reading.
