The Los Angeles Rams faced the Philadelphia Eagles twice in 2024. The first time the Rams were beaten was by a score of 37-20. When the two teams met for the second time, in the Divisional Round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs, the game was much more competitive, ending in a blizzard at Lincoln Financial Field by a score of 28-22. In both games, the difference maker was Eagles RB Saquon Barkley, who rushed for 255 yards and two touchdowns in the first game, and 205 yards and two touchdowns in the rematch.
While nobody on the Rams roster had any similar sort of success, the Rams did have some minor heroics. Defensive tackle Kobie Turner put up five tackles in the first meeting, but managed to put up six tackles, 1.0 quarterback sacks, and two tackles for a loss in the rematch. The Rams had just one quarterback sack in that first contest. Six Rams had at least one quarterback sack in the rematch.
If you recall the second game, the Rams offense contributed to the loss with two unfortunate turnovers that derailed potential drives and allowed the Eagles to kick the pair of field goals that would prove to be the margin of victory.
Resetting for the rematch
The Rams have a grueling 17-game schedule to navigate in 2025. But while the team must face AFC South and NFC South Division opponents, the Rams must face a gauntlet of first-place NFL teams. And that means that the Rams must travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles once more in Week 3. If you thought that the Rams might timidly approach that game, think again.
As defensive tackle and defensive captain, Kobie Turner, stated so eloquently: "Man, we definitely have that game circled. I have that game circled. And I’m super excited to get another crack at those guys."
And you can catch his enthusiasm straight from The Conductor in the interview, below:

It's not just Kobie Turner who wants another crack at the Eagles. Everyone who played or watched from the bench wants another chance at facing the Eagles. You know that the entire Rams defense wants another chance to stuff Eagles RB Saquon Barkley. And that has certainly been something that has haunted this team all offseason.
