The Los Angeles Rams might have lost Cooper Kupp this offseason but they signed Davante Adams, giving Matthew Stafford a solid weapon for the 2025 season. Stafford has grown accustomed to having Kupp and Puka Nacua to throw to over the past couple of seasons but with Kupp gone, Adams should find a meaningful role right away.
No one should be surprised to hear that Stafford is beyond thrilled that Adams is joining his squad. According to Gary Klein of The Los Angeles Times, Stafford said Adams has been a great player in the league and now he gets to reap the benefits of that.
“I have a ton of respect for him, the way he goes about his business and the way he plays the game,” Stafford said. “He’s been a big-time in this league for a long time, so happy to have him. I know he’s going to be a big addition to our team.”
Rams fans couldn't agree more with Matthew Stafford's comments on Davante Adams
Adams spent the first eight years of his career catching passes from Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. He played on the west coast for the Raiders for two and a half seasons before getting traded to the Jets last season and now he's ready to rumble with the Rams.
Adams got some heat for how all of the trade stuff went down last season but he showed he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. The former Fresno State star finished the 2024 season with 85 catches for 1,068 yards and eight trips into the end zone (that's combining his Raiders and Jets stats) and he did that despite missing three games.
Needless to say, the Rams are getting a great weapon for Stafford. This Rams offense should be a lot of fun in 2025.
