Jared Verse brings something to the Rams that has been lacking for many years

He is a trash-talker. He is a force of nature. But he brings something to the Rams roster that has been missing for years.

When it comes to the LA Rams, the talent level of the roster has ebbed and flowed with the influx of free agents and rookie as injuries have depleted the team throughout the course of a season. And yet, in recent years, try as much as the front office has, this team has been without an enforcer.

That's all changed.

There has been no shortage of bulletin board material that has incensed Rams fans over the years. From the spoutings from the San Francisco 49ers, to the ravings of the Las Vegas Raiders, to the clownish commentary from the Dallas Cowboys, visitors to SoFi Stadium have often come with the prerequisite comments from opposing players and fans about the luxury of coming to visit with no repercussions.

But when visiting Minnesota VIkings fans celebrated the injury to starting safety Kamren Curl, their insolence and disrespect crossed the line.

And LA Rams OLB Jared Verse got riled up as a result.

After years of disrespect and vitriol, I, for one, am excited to see a Rams player who is willing to stand up and say 'Enough!'. The LA Rams need such a player, someone who is both feared and respected. Someone who will not tolerate the common disrespect that has somehow made the jump from social media to everyday interactions has been absent from this team for some time.

Let's be brutally honest, nobody dared to troll the LA Rams Fearsome Foursome.

I would love to see that level of respect return to this defense. And to this team. Sure, the rules have changed. Yes, the modern-era NFL is less about brute force and more about game-planing, strategy, and personnel sub-packages. Above it all, there is still a place for those no-nonsense athletes who fuel their play based on the fans; who turn boos and derision into emotional energy that propels them to better-than-human levels of endurance and athleticism; whose performance is so amplified by fans' disrespect that nobody dares to trigger him.

Right now, Rams rookie outside linebacker Jared Verse is becoming that guy.

No, the Rams will not be able to reform the Fearsome Foursome. But Jared Verse brings the next best thing. He is renewing the team's ability to hold fans and opponents accountable. Nothing is as enjoyable to fans of an NFL team that cheering for a player who can hold opposing players and fans accountable for disrespecting the team. Respect is not given, it's earned.

In terms of earning respect, rookie OLB Jared Verse is a blue-collar workaholic.

As always, thanks for reading.
