The Los Angeles Rams are one of the best and brightest teams in the NFL on the offensive side of the ball, and the two players who may have the most to do with that streak of consistency and success are quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Kyren Williams.
Teams have been trying to figure out what is going on between Stafford's ears that can be replicated outside of Los Angeles, but Williams' latest insight after a 2025 season that came so bitterly close to a Super Bowl appearance shows that the future Hall of Famer is a uniquely impressive talent.
In an exclusive interview with FanSided on behalf of Sleep Number, Williams was able to go into detail about why Stafford can consistently churn out wins every year. According to Williams, Stafford's leadership abilities are so great that they extend far beyond football.
"I've never met anybody who has the command that Matthew has outside of football. He's always working, always trying to get better...to be like him, that'd be awesome." - Kyren Williams, referring to Matthew Stafford
Kyren Williams explains what makes Matthew Stafford a great Rams leader
The recently extended running back recorded his third consecutive season with at least 1,300 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns, which shows that he is playing a big part in the Rams' offensive machine. Stafford can cook all he wants, but he wouldn't have been an MVP without such a great ground game.
Stafford, however, is why the Rams have made their third NFC Championship game in the Sean McVay era. With his 46 touchdown passes this season, topped only by a handful of players in NFL history, Stafford put together a deserving MVP season that probably shouldn't have been as close a vote as it was.
Stafford confirmed that he will run it back for at least one more season in Rams colors. While there is a bit of an uncertain future facing this team when Stafford calls it a career, Williams knows that as long as No. 9 is under center in Los Angeles, this team is going to have a chance to win some games.
