Why this win was so important for the team

NFL teams in need of additional help to ensure a successful late-season run for the NFL playoffs circle struggling teams like vultures. Waiting for those teams to give up, they are ready to pick through the bones to sustain their own quest to claim the Lombardi Trophy. Just six days ago, the Rams were 1-4, and the hopes of any postseason were truly on life support.

Now, at 3-4, this team has beaten two teams in just five days. If the Rams can defeat the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on November 3, 2024, the team improves to a record of 4-4, and the season takes on a brand new outlook.

But the most important reason that this win is so very important is the dilemma that WR Cooper Kupp was in. The team was listening to trade offers for Kupp. Had the team lost in Week 8, the team's resolve to ignore offers would have been pushed to the bring, and the players may be facing a farewell to a beloved friend and teammate.

The Rams players clearly were not going to let that happen.

Whether the outcome was based on the threat of a trade of Kupp, the team's donning their unbeatable bone-on-bone uniform, or simply some mad NFL marketing strategy is not important. The LA Rams won a game as the home underdog. And they did so with all three phases of the team producing better than expected.

One game at a time. One win at a time. The Rams did something that few expected of them. They won, and did so convincingly.

As always, thanks for reading.
