The Tennessee Titans drafted quarterback Will Levis. Apparently, the team did not like what they got, because the Titans jumped right back to draft quarterback Cam Ward the following season. Now, NFL rumors hint that Will Levis may be on the trading block.

It's a familiar tale. Similar to that of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, a young passer was given limited time and opportunity before the team was ready to move on.

And it seems that the Titans are ready to move on.

The Titans have a new coaching staff and are unlikely to give more to Levis than a passing glance. And so, the saga of someone to take over at quarterback after MVP Matthew Stafford retires is once again front and center. And when Levis was still on the board, oddsmakers loved his chances to be selected by Los Angeles.

Better late than never, right?

That 2023 NFL Draft was superbly executed. There's no reason to second -guess a rookie class that has become the backbone of another perennial playoff team. And yet, the lack of a Stafford successor continues to haunt the team and fans alike. Is Will Levis up for the task of taking over this high-powered offense?

Will Levis could be that guy if he joins Rams roster now

While it's impossible to know whether Will Levis, or any young quarterback for that matter, can lead this offense, it's common ground to suggest that sitting behind the team's veteran quarterback is the most desirable option.

The recent success stories of Colts quarterback Daniel Jones and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold prove that it takes the right offense to unlock a quarterback's potential.

Levis struggled with a bad Titans offense. While the team struggled to find success, Levis showed signs of improvement despite getting tossed around like a sack of potatoes. And he's had time to reflect and rejuvenate. He even has enough mobility to move the chains if the pocket breaks down.

Standing 6-foot-4 and tipping the scales at 229 pounds, Levis has the size and durability of an NFL linebacker. But he is as dependent upon the offensive roster and strategy to flourish as any other quarterback. The Titans were just not a good fit.

Los Angeles could be. Currently, the team's only viable potential successor is former Georgie Bulldogs legend, Stetson Bennett. And Bennett knows the offense better than Levis, for now. But training camp competition and a long season create ample competition to determine who is best-suited for the pocket in the future.

If the Titans part ways with Levis, the LA Rams are a logical landing spot. And by signing him up, he could solve the team's nagging headache of securing the next quarterback after Matthew Stafford.

As always, thanks for reading.
