The Los Angeles Rams offense has been a tale of two tapes. On one hand, the connection between veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Puka Nacua has been phenomenal. Not just from the receiving yards aspect, but from the incredible 83.1-percent catch rate, this pair has buoyed their stats and the offense overall.

But with the latest injury update, both Nacua and right tackle Rob Havenstein have been ruled out for Week 7's showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Without Nacua's 54 catches out of 65 targets, Stafford's season seems much more pedestrian. Without the former BYU receiver, the 37-year-old quarterback has completed just 85 of 144 passes for 1,048 yards and 10 touchdowns. That is only a 59 percent completion rate and is not a good mark for any starting quarterback.

LA must pivot quickly to other offensive options. While some players have been impressive with light workloads, the most likely Plan B option for the offense is to throw more to veteran wide receiver Davante Adams.

Unfortunately, that comes with its own set of problems. Stafford has only been completing 47 percent of his passes thrown to Adams this season. And that is unlikely to drastically improve in Week 7

How will Rams adapt to Puka Nacua-less offense in Week 7?

It's the conundrum that many fans and websites feared coming to pass. Los Angeles has an unbreakable habit of fixation: running too much of the offense through too few players. When that player is injured, preparing for the next game is a mad scramble to find other players to step up. But with limited experience and workload, it's a shot in the dark.

One of the most promising players to step up is young wide receiver Jordan Whittington. He is another tough physical receiver who runs crisp routes and can tack on plenty of yards after the catch. Best of all, he's caught 10 of 13 passes thrown his way for 112 yards.

Another player who could find himself in a larger role is wide receiver Tutu Atwell. Coming off an injury, he was starting to find his groove. He could pick up where he left off against the Jags.

Meanwhile, the Rams will start swing tackle Warren McClendon Jr. at right tackle again. So far this season, he has performed very well in relief and may even be viewed by some fans as an upgrade at the position.

However LA plans to respond in Week 7, one thing is clear: The defense will need to show up, as a depleted Rams offense cannot be counted on to score 30-plus points in this one.

As always, thanks for reading.
