When it comes to the Los Angeles Rams' interior offensive line, the team could not be more pleased with how things are turning out in 2025. While the offensive tackle positions remain shrouded in uncertainty, the interior offensive line starters are locked in. LG Steve Avila, C Coleman Shelton, and RG Kevin Dotson already appear to be in mid-season form.

Of note is the swag that you see whenever Kevin Dotson steps onto the football field. He is happy, decked out, but harnessing a smoldering intensity that you know will be unleashed as soon as the football is snapped. In many ways, Dotson gives off superhero vibes. He is perfectly content with the Rams, and the team is equally pleased with him.

It only makes sense to pick the perceptions and observations of such a 'we. not me,' guy after a Rams training camp practice season. The fun part is, when the media began to ask Dotson questions about his defensive linemen counterparts, he shared some intriguing insights. One player whom he had the highest praise for is veteran NT Poona Ford.

Kevin Dotson confirms what fans have long suspected about Poona Ford

As soon as news broke about the team's signing of former Los Angeles Chargers NT Poona Ford, we were able to stumble upon a Jason Kelce interview in which the All-Pro center described his toughest opponents. One player he named was NT Poona Ford.

When the Los Angeles Rams gathered for OTAs and minicamp, Ford was cited repeatedly as a standout. He defies logic. He is too powerful to move aside. He possesses a center of gravity that is too low to topple. He is too short to get leverage against. He is too elusive and quick to stop getting after the quarterback. And his arms are too long to allow offensive linemen to get too close to him.

In short, he is a perfectly engineered NFL nose tackle.

When Dotson stepped up to the podium after practice, he was asked multiple questions about his teammates. He confessed that the Rams' offensive line is building off past familiarity. Eventually, questions pivoted to defensive linemen and to the new teammate, NT Poona Ford.

At the 14.00 mark, Kevin Dotson confirms what Rams fans have long suspected about NT Poona Ford

He was asked: "What's your scouting report on (NT) Poona (Ford)?", to which Dotson laughed and instantly replied:

"Nice. He's strong, lower to the ground, but he still has a twitch. He's still heavy. So it's a great combination of what you really want from a big (defensive) tackle. He's great against run blocks. And he's surprisingly quick on the pass. So it's like he has everything. "

When asked to elaborate further, Dotson added:

"It's just him (Poona Ford) being able to touch you first. But at the same time, having (all that) weight behind the punch. So, him already being six foot (tall), he's under your pads. He already has leverage. His arms are longer. He has weight. So, everything is going in his favor."

"So, imagine you have a 330 or 340 (pound opponent) with a stout arm, and it's longer than you. It just doesn't let you get into his body." - Rams IOL Kevin Dotson re: NT Poona Ford

His response needs no translation or decoding. In his quick response, he confirmed everything that Rams fans have read and suspected about the new veteran addition to the defensive front. And if all of this is true, then the expectations for a great season by the defense are more likely as well.

Grab your popcorn, Rams fans. This is where it starts getting good.

As always, thanks for reading.
