The narrative for the Los Angeles Rams schedule can be summed up with two simple phrases. The first is 'pack your bags,' as the team must travel an incredible number of miles over its 17-game schedule. And the second is 'ready for prime time,' as the team is slated for seven primetime games this season.
Seven prime-time games? That's right. Los Angeles has tied an NFL record set by the 2023 Buffalo Bills and the 2025 Kansas City Chiefs. Now, keep in mind that scheduled is not the same as played, as the NFL can flex teams into and out of prime time exposure as the season advances. But as it stands now, LA plays seven prime-time games for the national NFL audience.
Primed for primetime.

While that is great news for fans, 23 or so veterans whose contracts expire at season's end, and for Los Angeles merchandise sales, it does put the team on a nearly impossible pace, requiring it to bring its A-game nearly every week. That all happens to a team that is facing incredible travel miles and formidable opponents already.
Are Rams 7 primie time games a boon or a bane?
Who do the LA Rams play in these seven prime-time games? Well, you may be sorry you asked: Keep in mind that the Rams face the Philadelphia Eagles (11-6), a second game with both the 49ers (12-5) and the Seahawks (14-3), and a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9), all of which offer a competitive scenario that are not slated for prime time slots
- San Francisco 49ers (12-5)
- New York Giants (4-13)
- Denver Broncos (14-3)
- Buffalo Bills (12-5)
- Green Bay Packers (9-7-1)
- Kansas City Chiefs (6-11)
- Seattle Seahawks (14-3)
While LA faces some teams with a losing record from 2025, they are either led by a new head coach (Giants with HC John Harbaugh) or expected to rebound this season (Chiefs and Packers). Layer on the travel miles, and this schedule is incredibly difficult.
The most onerous characteristic of this schedule is that there is no margin for error. Should a starter fall to injury, special teams misfire, or the secondary simply not gel, losses can pile up quickly. That's not the fault of anyone, simply a fact of competing at such a high level week in and week out in 2026.
Iron forges iron. Either LA will arrive at the postseason battle-tested and ready, or this team will spiral out of control long before the playoffs arrive. Head coach Sean McVay has a knack for getting the best out of his players. But even as the team lines up to take off in 2026, this schedule will push even McVay to his limit.
As always, thanks for reading.
