The 11-4 Los Angeles Rams roster has been the foundation of the team's success over the past three seasons. In 2023 and 2024, the team restocked the roster with superb rookie infusions from the NFL draft. But the results from the 2025 NFL Draft have been incomplete at best.

Still, the team managed to get better. But how?

Per Pro Football Focus author Bradley Locker, general manager Les Snead tops all NFL GMs with three of the top 20 free agent signings of 2025. That's right. The same avenue of free agency signings that wilted under pressure in 2024 has been the undeniable engine of improvement in 2025.

The team struggled to fit interior offensive lineman Jonah Jackson and defensive back Tre'Davious White. Meanwhile, the team did not get full market value from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, cornerback Darious Williams, safety Kamren Curl, and tight end Colby Parkinson in 2024.

The team traded both Tre White and Jonah Jackson. Thankfully, Jimmy G, DWill, Kam Curl, and Colby Parkinson are living up to expectations this season. Still, LA reinforced the roster with some outstanding veterans who have played above expectations all season. They are:

Rams boast three of the top 20 free agency signings of 2025

Inside linebacker Nate Landman

The key to the 2025 defense has been the addition of under-the-radar inside linebacker Nate Landman. In 15 starts, Landman has already set career-high totals. He embodies complete command of defensive coordinator Chris Shula's scheme.

Landman has performed so well that the team already extended him, a rare inside linebacker extension.

Nose tackle Poona Ford

Another veteran addition who has made a huge positive impact is nose tackle Poona Ford. Ford is a superb fit in this defense, and most of his impact is not felt with sacks or tackles for loss. Rather, he is the immovable object that forces running backs and quarterbacks out of the middle, giving outside linebackers Jared Verse or Byron Young the opportunity to make plays.

Ford is a circus-level strong man, often taking on double teams. The physical nature of his demanding role requires him to rotate out quickly. But as he handles the most physically demanding plays, his teammates remain fresh and rested. He is the guy who deserves more credit than he is getting.

Wide receiver Davante Adams

The Rams roster needed to replace 14 touchdowns from the wide receiver room after parting ways with wide receivers Demarcus Robinson, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Johnson. It did so by signing veteran wide receiver Davante Adams.

You see, he's scored 14 touchdowns this year. And he's so dangerous in the red zone that he allows his teammates to get open as well.

NFL general managers struggle to find a touchdown maker. If it were easy, they would all do it. Adams is an elite receiver. And he has only begun to scratch the surface of what he brings to this offense. Look for more of the same in 2026, plus additional receiving yards.

Three free agents who fit their respective roles, and all of whom have exceeded expectations. Sure, signing Davante Adams was newsworthy. But few could have predicted just how red zone effective he would become in this offense.

The question is, how will Snead restock the roster in 2026? Fans are eager to find out.

As always, thanks for reading.
