3 biggest overreactions to Los Angeles Rams Week 2 drubbing
By Bret Stuter
The collapse of the LA Rams football team has not happened just yet. But the likelihood of success in 2024 has become far more challenging. That's not just from the odds of teams who start the season with a record of 0-2 actually making the NFL playoffs. That's secondary. This is an NFL team that opened the season without their two starting offensive tackles.
Now that the team has a chance to get both starting offensive tackles of the football field together, the team has lost:
- Two starting interior offensive linemen
- Two top wide receivers
- Two top defensive backs
And this is all after just two games in the 2024 NFL season.
So if you are thrown by the ups and downs, twists and turns of the emotional roller coaster of the LA Rams early season events, it's perfectly acceptable. This has been a brutal ride, even for veterans who have been down this road before. The Rams roster has been pitted with injuries, not just among starters, but the impact has been felt up and down the depth chart.
Still, the Rams are in control of their own destiny even now. If the team can heal up, win some games, and simply turn the corner on their luck and performance, things will all seem that much better. However unlikely, a Week 3 win will convert all of the current despair among fans into subdued optimism. But the team needs to do more than hope for better play.
Still, until the team can show some signs of resiliency and positive momentum, it will be up to fans to stay optimistic but realistic. What do I mean? Let's dive right in.
