On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a huge contract extension with CeeDee Lamb. Could this end up benefitting the LA Rams? After a bit of stand-off, the Cowboys have an agreement with one of the three players who were due for an extension this offseason. CeeDee Lamb and the Cowboys agreed to a four-year, $136 million deal.

Lamb gets his contract, and that is another wide receiver taken care of, but folks, Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers are still in the same spot it seems. The sides have not agreed to a deal, so you have to wonder if Aiyuk's camp would begin adjusting their offer with Lamb's numbers now settled.

If this is the case, this has to benefit the Los Angeles Rams, as it would make it that much more likely that the two sides cannot agree to a deal. It's been long thought that if the 49ers cannot agree on a deal with Brandon Aiyuk, they'd trade him to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Rams don't really have to worry about the Pittsburgh Steelers, so the ideal scenario here is that Aiyuk sees Lamb's deal and wants more from the SF front office.

There have been a ton of wide receivers who have signed huge deals this offseason. Aiyuk is one of them who is left without a deal at this point, and a notable AFC wide receiver in Ja'Marr Chase is also without a deal. The Rams have big-money invested into WR Cooper Kupp, but their next great wide receiver, Puka Nacua, will have to at least wait until after the 2025 NFL Season for his own extension.

The Los Angeles Rams have definitely made a ton of all-in moves this offseason, and I am not sure they aren't better than the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers also have stud left tackle Trent Williams unhappy with his deal, so could this team be unraveling a bit?

That would be an ideal situation as we head into the 2024 NFL Season. The Rams may have another small window opening, and perhaps have a chance to take the NFC West back.
