If the LA Rams are active at NFL Trade Deadline, this could be their guy

The LA Rams may wish to invest now for a future star. If so, does this player make sense?

Despite the sudden surge by the Minnesota Vikings, you cannot ignore the fact that they certainly have an uphill battle to winning the NFC North Division. After all, the Vikings have a record of 3-4, but are two games behind the Detroit Lions (5-2). Of course, it's still too early to know whether the Minnesota Vikings have any interest in selling players.

That's going to complicate matters, as the 2023 NFL Trade Deadline occurs on October 31, 2023. Right now, the LA Rams are believed to be content to go with the Rams roster 'as is,' But fans have gotten it wrong before, so the 'certainty,' that some profess to hold is still based on opinions, as strong as those convictions may be.

So let's work under the assumption that we may not 'know,' what the LA Rams' intentions are at the 2023 NFL Trade Deadline. Will the Rams try to upgrade via trade? They certainly made a strong effort to do so at the 2022 NFL Trade Deadline, pushing the Carolina Panthers hard for two players: RB Christian McCaffrey or DE/OLB Brian Burns. The Rams fell short on both players, but the lesson is that even amidst a 5-12 season, the Rams are still willing to make a deal.

One such deal that the Rams may be willing to make is to land Minnesota Vikings pass rush specialist Danielle Hunter:

Fans have lobbied the Rams front office to upgrade the pass rush all season, and Danielle Hunter would certainly fall into that 'upgrade' category.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reports on the NFL rumors that multiple teams have contacted the Minnesota VIkings regarding a trade for Hunter. Since the LA Rams have close ties to the Vikings and have successfully traded with them in the past, it's a logical connection to consider the Rams as one of those NFL teams that have already reached out to the Vikings.

Too far fetched? I don't think so. Even if it never happens, the possibility exists. After all, the LA Rams will consider any and all options to improve the team. Whether or not the Vikings are fielding offers for Hunter now is another matter altogether.
