LA Rams continue to play the hokey pokey with even more roster tweaks

If you thought that the LA Rams were done tweaking their rosters, the answer is no. More 'tweaking,' to the practice squad, and more roster changes are likely on the way.

The LA Rams have been doing an awful lot of 'tweaking' the roster, both the active and practice squad rosters, just hours and days after setting the initial group of players. While some of the adjustments were spontaneous due to opportunities to upgrade the overall rosters due to released players, some moves simply feel reactionary.

The image of redecorating a living room to the satisfaction of my wife comes to mind. In this comparison, she directs where furniture should go, decides that the look isn't quite right, and then simply decides to restore pieces to their original locations. Sometimes new pieces simply do not work anywhere, and end up in the garage.

It's the hokey pokey, and it's not a fun process to engage in if you are tired, or nursing a sore back.

Right now, the Rams roster setting and resetting feels a lot like that. The team set the original roster, tweaked that roster, set the practice squad roster, and then tweaked that roster as well. And the 'tweaks' just keep on coming.

The latest move involves defensive linemen. Washington Huskies rookie defensive lineman Tuli Letuligasenoa has been released, and the team has resigned DL Cory Durden. Durden, if you recall, was just released 24 hours earlier.

Was Cory Durden the target all along? He does have some experience with the team, having played 44 defensive snaps and 16 special teams snaps in 2023. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 316 pounds, he was able to record three tackles in limited play. In preseason, he managed to record seven tackles for the team.

Tuli Letuligasenoa managed to record eight tackles, including a quarterback sack, in preseason for the Rams. It seems that was not quite good enough.

Rams HC Sean McVay indicated that the team would be looking to add an additional offensive lineman. If that occurs, the team will need to make additional roster moves to create an open roster spot. Even if and when that happens, the team will need to create additional open slots when QB Jimmy Garoppolo and LT Alaric Jackson have completed their two-game suspensions.

If you are unhappy with the current Rams roster, just give it time. More changes are on the way. And just like the hokey pokey, after more moves, your shake it all about and turn yourself around. Whatever the team wants to see on their roster, it appears that they are not quite seeing it yet.

As always, thanks for reading.
