Update: Puka Nuca was ruled out with a knee injury and will not return on Sunday night against the Lions.

When the L.A. Rams took the field Sunday night under the lights, it was Matthew Stafford taking on his former team, the Detroit Lions, once again.

This NFC playoff rematch from a year ago saw Stafford come back to Detroit along with his high-flying offensive weapons.

The Rams came out a little slow, at first, only scoring three points in the first half. Stafford looked to be gaining some steam before halftime, but threw a red zone interception inside the Detroit 10-yard line.

In the second quarter, the offense was hampered by injury a little bit. After a reception from Stafford, wide receiver Puka Nacua went down and limped off the field gingerly. From there, he went into the blue medical tent for further evaluation.

Nacua was in the medical tent for 10-15 minutes before coming back to the sideline to join his Rams teammates. However, he did not come back into the game before the halftime break. Los Angeles went back out for their next drive with Nacua looking on from the sideline.

Latest injury update on Rams WR Puka Nacua

A couple of minutes after Nacua came back out to join his teammates, NFL insider Ian Rapoport gave us all an update.

Then, sideline reporter Melissa Stark went on the live broadcast to update the fans:

"Wide receiver Puka Nacua, he was in the medical tent for about 10 minutes ... he came out with a tape job on that right knee," Stark said.

As the Rams trotted into the locker room at half time, Nacua still had his pads and helmet despite not rejoining his teammates on the field.

Starting offensive lineman Joe Noteboom also came off the field with an apparent ankle injury, which Stark updated us on as well.

"Medical staff was examining his left ankle," said Stark.

The injuries apparently didn't stop there, though.

Commentator Mike Tirico also noted that the drive which saw Nacua and Noteboom injured happened to end with Stafford getting his ankle taped.

Yikes.

That's not an ideal first half for the Rams, especially with playoff aspirations and going up against a test like the Lions. It's only Week 1, but seeing three key offensive injuries was tough to watch.
