Even as the LA Rams seem to be struggling with getting offensive linemen suited up and practicing, that is not the only positional group that needs some good news regarding injuries. We learned that some positive developments were taking place in the status of QB Stetson Bennett and LG Jonah Jackson. While not fully participating in practices, yet, they both suited up and were doing plenty of stretching and sideline drills.

While that is very good news, the LA Rams have more players who are still being held out of practice. There is the hamstring injury forcing DB Darious Williams to sit out. Then there are the ankle injuries to both starting offensive tackles Alaric Jackson and Rob Havenstein that continues to hold them out of practices. And then there is the soft-tissue injury to rookie outside linebacker Brennan Jackson. That may be the most devastating impact of all, because a rookie like Brennan Jackson needs as many reps as he can get at this critical juncture in his first NFL season.

Well, it appears as though some positive developments will inch Brennan Jackson one step closer to playing in his first preseason game:

Even if the Rams have already concluded that Brennan Jackson will make the team's 53-man roster, this is a vital turning point for him, as it will be the one and only chance he has to experience game-like decisions before a live NFL game is thrust upon him. Amd as we know in the past, outside linebackers need to have a strong off-season program to have a chance of making a positive impact on the defense.

I think back to the struggles of getting OLB Terrell Lewis reps before the season started in his rookie season, and how he seemed to fade almost instantly once the season started. I hope for a much better outcome for rookie OLB Brennan Jackson. And with this positive news, that is well on its way of coming true.
