The LA Rams had an outstanding haul in the 2024 NFL Draft, at least as far as you can tell still hours after the event has drawn to a close. But it's okay to seek a consensus of first impressions to validate your own impressions or thoughts about the new faces who have been added to the roster. After all, we are all still building the database to form a more permanent decision about the player or players selected or signed.

That is particularly true of players added on or after Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft. While the team did consolidate 11 picks into a rookie class of 10 players, the team did emerge with all roster holes or depth needs addressed with talented players who have a shot at making the 53-man roster. Even the six players added on Day 3 are very impressive.

One rookie stands out though. He was selected by the LA Rams in Round 6 with the 217th overall pick, which was virtually 60 picks later in the draft than projected. He is Arkansas interior offensive lineman Beaux Limmer, and he is one of the strongest offensive linemen, and most undervalued interior offensive linemen, in the 2024 NFL Draft. He is such a bargain that he was named by ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller as one of the best values found in this draft.

In fact, he is just one of three best values.

Centers in the 2024 NFL Draft were particularly deep this year. So much so that 18 centers were listed on the NFL.com big board. Of the 18 players named, Beaux Limmer was ranked as the fourth-best center in this draft. But he fell to the end of Round 6. Now the question is: Will Beaux Limmer simply sit on the bench for the Rams? Or will he push hard for playing time?

I see this as more of the latter.

The part that I love about Beaux Limmer's addition to this team is the fact that he has the resume to backup any of the three interior linemen positions on this offensive line. In essence, the team added a younger, cheaper, and more athletic version of veteran Coleman Shelton.

We all know that when it comes to the center position, Rams fans remain awfully vigilant over value at the position. After all, we all know that the Rams did not recognize the value of C Creed Humphrey in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Perhaps the selection of IOL Beaux Limmer may make up a little ground for fans. He is a capable offensive lineman who is as strong as an ox and who has handled some of the best defensive linemen in college football. He will learn how to hone his craft as a backup offensive lineman on the Rams roster. But don't expect him to remain a backup for long.
