When the LA Rams lined up with 2:47 remaining on the game clock and down by seven points, they were are but eliminated from the game. San Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody was about to kick a 55-yard field goal to put the 49ers up by 10 points, and all but win the game. It was a moment in the game that seemed all too familiar for the Rams this season, and practically every occasion when the Rams faced the 49er in the regular season since hiring HC Sean McVay.

But then, Moody missed that field goal. It sailed left. The Rams were still down by seven points, but not out. The Rams' offense took the field down by seven points with 2:43 on the game clock at their own 45-yard line. The team was still fighting without WRs Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, TE Tyler Higbee, IOLsSteve Avila, and Jonah Jackson.

But the team still had QB Matthew Stafford. And Stafford had speedster WR Tutu Atwell, who he found deep downfield for a 50-yard completion. Two Kyren Williams runs later, the Rams had tied the score. But that was only enough to tie the score. The 49ers would get the kickoff, with 1:51 remaining, and they had every opportunity to run the clock out and play into overtime.

The 49ers opted to pass. Two completions, two incompletions, and one scramble later, the Rams' defense held and forced the 49ers to punt. That led to PR Xavier Smith's heroic 38-yard punt return. But even with so many dominoes falling the Rams' way, the offense still found itself at the 50-yard line, and only 42 seconds remaining on the clock.

And yet, that is all Stafford needed to complete the comeback. The Rams veteran hurler launched a 25-yard pass to TE Colby Parkinson that drew two defensive penlaties. Defensive pass interference placed the football on the 49ers' 25-yard line with just 25 seconds remaining. RB Kyren rushed for six yards, and Stafford coolly spiked the football to set up the game winning field goal from the 49ers' 19 yard line.

That set up rookie kicker Joshua Karty's game winning field goal.

The Rams scored twice in the final three minutes of the game. 10 points in the final three minutes. Seven points in 52 seconds. The defense needed 1:09 to force the 49ers to punt. And the Rams needed just 40 seconds to score the final game-winning three points.

You can't write the script any better.

The LA Rams have a huge advantage at quarterback. And as long as he is healthy and upright, this team has a chance of winning. At one point, the Rams had less than a 4.5 percent chance of winning. In the end, I want Matthew Stafford to scratch my lotter tickets.
