The time from the end of the 2023 NCAA college season to the end of the 2024 NFL Draft may only be a matter of several months. But a lot can happen to the college prospects over that period. If the player is injured, their stock can plummet over that time. If teams can meet their roster needs via the NFL Free Agency market, the number of teams shopping for that player's position can shrink rapidly.

Any number of things can happen over time to elevate or plummet the draft stock of a rookie prospect. But one thing that all rookies are drilled on from their representation is to keep their noses clean. Nothing can derail a football hopeful's spot on an NFL team's big board than trouble with the law. Today, there are rumored reports that one of the Rams top prospects, Texas defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat, may be facing charges:

This is a breaking story. Keep in mind that report of an arrest and alleged charges are by no means admissions or proof of guilt. And as of right now, all that is publicly available is the confirmed news report from KXAN News, out of Austin Texas:

From the KXAN story by Billy Gates, the following details are available:

"Former Texas football player T’Vondre Sweat was booked into Travis County Jail on Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to jail records.

Records show Sweat, 22, was arrested by the Austin Police Department and booked into Travis County Jail at 2:12 p.m. Sunday. Driving while intoxicated is a Class B misdemeanor. "

Again, the story simply indicates that charges have been made by the Austin Police Department against former Texas football player T'Vondre Sweat. No further details are currently available by KXAN.

Sweat has appeared in two of our most recent mock drafts. Once he showed up as the draft aimed to improve the Rams defensive front. In the second mock, he was selected to bolster the roster in response to the Stefon Diggs trade by the Buffalo Bills. In both mocks, Sweat was selected in Round 2 with the 52nd overall pick.

While this is a rapidly developing story that could have a serious impact on Sweat's NFL career, not enough facts have been established to draw any conclusions at this time.

Stay tuned. We will share new information as it becomes available. And thanks for reading.
