With a 3-6 record heading into their Week 10 BYE week, the LA Rams latest 2024 3-Round mock draft from Tankathon is an incredible haul.

Even with the presence of veteran QB Matthew Stafford, the signing of veteran quarterback Carson Wentz as an LA Rams backup quarterback for 2023, and the likelihood of rookie QB Stetson Bennett's return to the Rams roster in 2024, the Rams continue to need a strong rookie quarterback to develop to take over in the future. It just so happens that the 2024 NFL Draft class is absolutely bursting with quarterback talent.

2024 rookie quarterback prospect Bo Nix from Oregon may not be one of the top two or three quarterbacks that you think of when assessing the 2024 quarterback class, but don't fool yourself into the misconception that he is not NFL worthy.

Nix hails from the same Oregon offense that birthed Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. So far, Herbert has been a solid player for the Chargers offense. And it just so happens that Bo Nix could enjoy a similarly accomplished NFL career as well.

Chuck and Duck offense

Nix has the ability to take over a game and win in adverse conditions. Ahd his ability to connect with his receivers elevates all aspects of the offense. Unfortunately, thanks to a crowded and quite talented crop of rookie quarterbacks destined to test their NFL careers via the 2024 NFL Draft, Nix is likely to slide to the Rams in Round 2.

Nix is not just some guy with a silver spoon in his mouth. He is a blue collar quarterback who does his best work when the pressure is on. That is vital quality to have in the Rams offense. But there is more:

Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 215 pounds, Nix is well within the ideal size to succeed in the pocket in the NFL. It's that quality that gives him an edge over Bennett in open competition in the 2024 Rams training camp. But he is a solid processor,

He can run for positive yards, but he is best at moving in the pocket and fixing on open receivers downfield. In two seasons in the Oregon offense since transferring from Auburn University, Nix has thrown 529 of 710 passes for 5,316 yards, 54 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

Nix has the same audacity and pocket presence that helped Herbert hit the football field running, and that is particularly appealing to a Rams team with a lot of uncertainty in the future of the Rams roster at the quarterback position.

Could Nix be a successor to Matthew Stafford at quarterback for the Rams? He certainly looks the part, and if he is there in Round 2, I would be excited to hear his name called out by the LA Rams.
