Believe it or not, the annual NFL compensatory pick announcement used to be shrouded in complete surprise. But over time, NFL analysts began to project where and how many comp picks might be awarded to teams. The Los Angeles Rams were projected to be awarded two compensatory draft picks in Round 7 of the 2026 NFL Draft.
And lo and behold, that is exactly how the comp picks have fallen for LA.

The additional two draft picks, while expected, were a needed shot-in-the-arm to an LA draft event that was withering down to just five selections. The cause? General manager Les Snead packaged four picks to acquire All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs.
The surprise from that exchange is the fact that LA has removed itself from making any selections from the 93rd overall pick (Round 3) until the 207th overall pick (Round 6).
The reason for the mild surprise is that Snead and company have a stellar reputation for finding elite NFL talent among those picks. Just look at two key offensive weapons in running back Kyren Williams and wide receiver Puka Nacua for evidence of that.
As it stands now, the team will sit out 114 selections before returning to the podium in Round 6. That's certainly setting the stage for LA to trade back at some point on Day 2.
Rams 2026 NFL Draft selectiolns have been finalized
Here are the LA Rams official selections for now. Of course, the team could continue to engage in commerce that may either add or subtract picks. But after one day of free agency, the team is armed with seven selections. They are:
- Round 1 - 13th overall (via Atlanta)
- Round 2 - 61st overall
- Round 3 - 93rd overall
- Round 4 - None
- Round 5 - None
- Round 6 - 207th overall (via Houston)
- Round 7 - 232nd (via Baltimore), 251st (comp), and 252nd (comp)
If you are concerned over the team's lack of numerous picks, keep in mind that the team has agreed to sign cornerback Jaylen Watson and long snapper Joe Cardona in the first day of legal tampering. As such, the roster is much deeper in key positions, immunizing general manager Les Snead from pushing too far to select a player at a position of need.
With that in mind, the team may be set up to choose best players available in the 2026 NFL draft.

- Round 4
- Round 5
