He let his play do his talking, but then had the perfect reply as well.

The Los Angeles Rams roster is not insulated from the same concerns and discussions that all NFL fans face. It's particularly challenging on social media, as players often must face emotional outbursts and unfair criticisms from fans and critics alike. But there is always the instance when the final straw hits, and players respond.

Cat Crave, the FanSided website dedicated to all things related to the Carolina Panthers, found out that lesson the hard way. After prompting Panthers head coach Dave Canales to target Rams cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. in the wild card game in a less-than-complimentary fashion, Forbes took to the internet to offer an emotional rebuttal.

And the reply was priceless.

Emotions run high this time of year. It's perfectly understandable, because the stakes are quite high. It's the time of year when it's either win or go home. And for professional football players, nothing could be worse than packing up belongings and saying goodbye to football until next year.

Emmanuel Forbes may be the rock Rams secondary is built upon

With an injury to Ahkello Witherspoon that placed him back on injured reserve, this secondary must get the best from Forbes the rest of the way. Against Carolina, he put up six tackles while allowing four of six passes to find their mark for 42 yards. He did not allow a touchdown.

He will have his work cut out for him against the Chicago Bears. Not only will he be battling the physical Bears receivers, but he will be fighting against brutally cold winds. And at a height of 6-foot-0 and a weight of just 173 pounds, he doesn't have sufficient body weight to fight off the cold.

He won't be alone. LA's secondary got quality defensive snaps from free agent cornerback Roger McCreary as well as veteran cornerback Cobie Durant. With Witherspoon on IR, the team will likely deploy either cornerback Darious Williams or Derion Kendrick as well.

Defensive backs had to pull double-duty against the Panthers' balanced offensive assault, and that will likely be needed against the Chicago Bears as well. The bitter chill will make running the football mandatory, and that feeds into the home team's strength.

While the team upped its run-stuffing in the off-season, the Horns must be willing to apply the entire squad to shutting down the run. But even as that makes perfect sense, defensive backs must be ready to defend the pass as well. That's what this defense needs from Forbes. And despite the taunts of Cat Crave, that's what Forbes delivers.

As always, thanks for reading.
