When the NFL's legal tampering period kicked off on Monday, the L.A. Rams wasted no time in making deals happen.
One of the first signings the Rams made was to bring back veteran backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to give Matthew Stafford some insurance.
As the day went on, the Rams weren't done. They made a notable addition to the defensive line by agreeing to terms with Poona Ford on a 3-year deal worth $30 million, including $17 million guaranteed.

Los Angeles has received a ton of credit for the way they have assembled that front seven over the last couple of years, with young pieces like Byron Young and Kobie Turner, among others.
Adding Ford, now, only bolsters their strength up front on that side of the ball.
After spending the first five years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, Ford somewhat fell off a bit. He signed with the Buffalo Bills for the 2023 season and only appeared in eight games that year before joining the L.A. Chargers in 2024.
Last season, Ford tied a career-high with 3.0 sacks and set a new career-high with five pass deflections.
Ford's 2024 season also saw him with about as well-rounded a performance as he's had. He was stout against the run, earning a Pro Football Focus grade of 78.8 in that department and a stellar overall grade of 85.1.
The 29-year-old tallied 23 quarterback pressures and 21 stops on defense. Now, he gets to join an ascending group in Los Angeles. Not to mention, the Rams' offense is pretty darn good, too.
In an offseason that began not knowing which direction the Rams were headed, fans can now rest assured that this is still an organization thinking Super Bowl.
