The Los Angeles Rams were sky-high after a Week 4 victory against the undefeated Indianapolis Colts. With the battered and beaten San Francisco 49ers on the schedule in Week 5, Rams fans felt like they should have won this home game on a short week. But they fell to the Mac Jones-led squad.

While the Rams still sit firmly in the playoff picture at 3-2, they relinquished control of the NFC West and need to get their mojo back in Week 6 after dropping a winnable game. That won't come easy against the Baltimore Ravens, even though they have largely underperformed this season.

Yes, Baltimore is just 1-4, but they still have talented players like Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Kyle Hamilton and Roquan Smith on the team. Except for this Sunday, when the Ravens will be without Jackson, Smith, and a handful of others.

Ravens announce that Lamar Jackson will be out for Week 6 clash with Rams

Injuries are the worst part of the game of football, and unfortunately, they are a given in the NFL. Jackson has been dealing with an injury since Week 4's beatdown at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that he'll miss Sunday's game against the Rams.

Fans obviously aren't happy to see one of the league's best players sidelined with an ailment, but they can recognize the fortunate timing of his absence. This greatly increases the Rams' chances of winning and getting back on track.

Cooper Rush will start in his place, and he struggled immensely against the Houston Texans last week. Rush did complete 14-of-20 passes, which is a solid percentage, but only threw for 179 yards and was sacked three times.

The Rams' run defense has also been elite in 2025, so it's not like the Ravens can rely on running backs like Henry and Justice Hill to keep them in the game. LA has to jump out to an early lead and force Rush to throw Baltimore back into the contest.

With a defensive line that has the third-most sacks in the league, Sean McVay and Co. should be feeling fairly confident against a relatively immobile quarterback like Rush. Whereas Jackson is an elite talent who can cause problems in more than one way, getting after Rush is fairly straightforward.

Obviously, the Rams cannot overlook the Ravens simply because they have a backup quarterback, as that got them in trouble last week against the 49ers. But Mac Jones is a level above Rush as a player, and Jackson is in an entirely different stratosphere, so the Rams will take the fortunate break of him being out on Sunday.
