Rams have perfect trade target after passing on Stefon Diggs

As currently constructed, the Los Angeles Rams have a chance to repeat as the NFL's best offense. There's always a path to get better, though, even for the top team in the league. That’s why some believe L.A. needs to upgrade its receiver depth, despite already having Puka Nacua and Davante Adams leading the room.

The Rams were considered a potential landing spot for veteran free agent Stefon Diggs, but he recently signed with the Commanders. That means if Los Angeles is going to upgrade, the team has to look elsewhere. Fortunately, there are still plenty of good options.

One option is making a move for New England Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte, who has emerged as a trade candidate.

Rams should explore Kayshon Boutte trade if they want to upgrade at WR3

Boutte is a talented young receiver, but his time with the Patriots is clearly nearing an end. The wideout is entering the final season of his rookie contract, and it doesn’t seem like New England plans to bring him back.

After adding AJ Brown and Romeo Doubs this offseason, the offense will lean on those two in 2026 and beyond. Boutte could be a productive WR3, but knowing that the Pats will likely let him walk next winter, they may be tempted to get something in return.

That’s where the Rams could step. Entering Year 4, Boutte has been a solid contributor over the last two seasons. In 2024, he caught 43 passes for 589 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games.

He maintained that production last season, posting 33 catches for 551 yards and six TDs. He also showed up in the playoffs (nine catches, 168 yards and a touchdown in four games).

Adding Boutte alongside Nacua and Adams would be game-changing. The Rams are clearly pushing all their chips to the middle of the table, so they should explore every reasonable move to improve.
