Rams rumored to play the Grinch to NFC West rivals fans on Christmas Day

Rams have a chance to settle th score in brutal fashion.

It appears as though NFL schedulers expect another photo finish between the Los Angeles Rams and their rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, in 2026. It seems that Los Angeles is rumored to face Seattle on Christmas Day. IF true, that will be a great Christmas Day for one fanbase, while it will be a tough setback for the other:

It makes sense to pit these two NFC West Division powerhouses against one another. They fought hard in all three clashes in 2025, with the Seahawks winning two of three by a total margin of three points. That makes for compelling viewing, not just for fans of the two competing teams, but for NFL fans at large. And compelling viewing means more advertising dollars for networks

If the Rams rumors are true, the team will face the Seahawks in two of the final three games of the season. That makes for an exciting finish to the 2026 season, but it forces both teams to stay healthy for the playoff push, perhaps even competing at full strength in Week 18, a game that Los Angeles favors to sit starters in time for the NFL Playoffs.

Could Christmas Day victory deliver Rams the NFC West Division?

The LA Rams finished with a record of 12-5 in 2026, while the Seahawks closed out with a record of 14-3. But it's going to be difficult for both teams to sustain that level of success. Both teams have managed changes in their respective coaching staffs and players.

Meanwhile, opponents have had months to analyze successful strategies and are formulating more effective countermeasures as you read this. With new rosters, they hope that will prove to be the difference.

Rams fans know that the front office addressed a porous secondary that struggled to shut down Seahawks receivers. But the more vital 'fix' for LA is covering punts and kickoffs while managing to field and return them. The team made subtle roster changes that could result in improvements. Fans must now wait to find out.

LA has been steadily improving each season. With any luck, a Christmas Day victory could secure a division title.
