In a game that meant everything, the Los Angeles Rams offense sputtered for much of the game. The Chris Shula defense bent often by broke seldom. In a game that saw Los Angeles convert two interceptions into touchdowns, the offense needed a catalyst. That is where safety Kam Kinchens proved his worth.

Turnovers can play a huge role in a game's outcome. If you factor out the two interception-inspired touchdowns, the game was all Seattle Seahawks. This was a game with a Time of possession that was nearly two-to-one in favor of the visitors. And that was backed up by yards gained, first downs, and passing yards.

But Los Angeles held the advantage in two critical statistical categories. LA converted three of four red zone conversions and won the turnover battle by a factor of four to one. It was the kind of game that had everyone nervous from the opening kickoff through the final whistle.

Defensive back Kamren Kinchens was a monster in this one, picking off two Sam Darnold passes to lead the home team to a desperately needed win.

Rams offense could not overcome Seahawks smothering defense

This was a game that demanded outstanding efforts from everyone. But the offensive guns fell silent, relying on the opportunistic defense to stop the Seahawks offense and hand the football over to quarterback Matthew Stafford with a short field. Thankfully, Stafford was able to put up points after two interceptions.

Stafford was off target. Davante Adams caught his 1000th reception for one yard and a touchdown, but failed to catch seven other passes thrown his way. Ultimately, this game never should have come down to the final second. But it did.

This one came down to the final second. Seahawks kickerJason Myers missed a buzzer-beater to give Los Angeles the win. In the end, the Rams won ugly, but won. And it was a huge win for Los Angeles, improving them to 8-2. By all accounts, the Rams have seven games remaining and could end up as the top-seeded contender in the NFC.

Stay tuned. And as always, thanks for reading.
