Thursday Night Football wasn't kind to the Los Angeles Rams this week. Nearly completing a comeback against their division rival San Francisco 49ers, the Rams saw a late-game disaster unfold as they went on to lose the game.
With about a minute remaining in the fourth quarter, Los Angeles was knocking on the door to the end zone down 23-20. Quarterback Matthew Stafford proceeded to hand the ball off to running back Kyren Williams, and just before he went to cross the goal line, the ball was punched out and recovered by San Francisco.
Now, this is besides the fact that you could argue a cheap shot was landed on that play, but the fact is, the Rams could have taken a lead here.
The Rams could have taken a 4-point lead, in the end, and would have only given the ball back to the 49ers with a minute remaining. Instead, the game went on and the Rams lost in overtime. After the game, Rams teammate and defensive tackle Poona Ford took to his social media to offer support for Williams.
We gone stick beside 23 no matter what

Of course, this is the kind of support any teammate appreciates after such a monumental mistake. And, to be fair, the Rams also had their chance in overtime and didn't take advantage. So, to pin a loss on one play is hard to do.
But, Williams' fumble might be turning into a pattern if he isn't careful.
Kyren Williams' fumbling is quietly becoming a problem
This is now the second-straight game Williams has fumbled. Not only that, but his fumbles have occurred in the fourth quarter. Of all times to make a mistake, the fourth quarter is not exactly ideal.
Sure, you never want to see a turnover happen. But, they're bound to. However, watching them happen in the fourth quarter is a whole lot tougher pill for fans to swallow rather than getting the mistake out of the way earlier on.
Williams also lost three fumbles last season, which was tied for the league lead among running backs. As good as he's been in both the run and passing game, his inability to hang onto the football is becoming more and more apparent.
Three fumbles in 16 games last year is a little less worrisome than two in the last two weeks, so you can be sure Rams fans aren't taking this lightly, and neither should Sean McVay.
The problem is, Blake Corum also lost a fumble in this game. So, if you try and take touches away from Williams, who are they going to? At this point, it's going to have to be a problem that's fixed on Williams' end one way or another.
