The LA Rams have improved to a record of 9-6, which has left almost everyone in a very hopeful state of mind. And why not? The Rams scratched and clawed their way back to the top of the NFC West Division, despite opening the season with a record of 1-4. Of course, at the time few recognized the power of the NFC North Division, an NFL division that will send three teams to the NFL Playoffs, whose aggregate records become 41 wins to just 19 losses.
The Rams are 1-3 against the NFC North. But in those first five games, the Rams were 0-3 against them. So yes, there were clues that the NFC North was enroute to dominating the NFL this year.
On a more personal note, the LA Rams have some players who, through poor performances or simply bad decisions, have ended up on Santa's naughty list this season. Who on the Rams roster did not make the nice list? We have five such players, who are:
V- WR Demarcus Robinson
Yes, Rams veteran wide receiver has scored a lot of touchdowns for the team in 2024, seven to be exact. And yes, that is more than any other player on the team not named RB Kyren Williams. But this is a player who hauled in 26 of 39 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns in 2022, to fall to 28 catches in 56 targets and seven touchdowns in 2024. That catch rate plummeted from 66.7 percent to 50.0 percent. The yards per target has plummeted as well, from 9.5 YPT to 7.7 YPT.
Worst of all, Demarcus Robinson was arrested earlier in the season after the Rams drubbing at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. While remorseful after the fact, it's certainly not something NFL veterans can get away with and continue playing football. Since his arrest, Robinson has caught just two of six passes thrown his way and has failed to record a reception in the past three games. As the pressure to win has mounted, Demarcus Robinson has faded away into an ineffective player.
