Rams Review: Preseason Week 4

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Last night at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri the Rams took home the governor’s cup with 10-3 exhibition win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Ryan Kitzpatrick sealed the deal in the third quarter with a 20 yard touchdown pass to Marques Hagans that put St. Louis up 10-0 on the scoreboard. The Rams wrap up their 2007 preseason with a 2-2 record and get ready to head into the 2007 regular season opener against the Carolina Panthers. Fitzpatrick was a big part of this game for St. Louis, going 12 for 18 and passing for 105 yards [...]

Rams News and Notes

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Tomorrow night, the St. Louis Rams battle the Kansas City Chiefs in the annual governor’s cup in St. Louis. The Rams are 1-2 in the preseason so far. Expect this to be a game that the Rams take with a grain of salt as it wouldn’t surprise me if for most of the game we will see the backups. In other Rams news, Andy McCollum will have to adjust to being a backup as Brett Romberg has won the starting job. McCullom shows he has no problem with the move being made by head coach Scott Linehan.  “I got a [...]

Rams 2007: Defense (Part two of two)

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Part one of this two part mini-series included analysis of the Rams defensive line and linebackers. In the final part of this series here on RAMblin Fan, I will cover the secondary which includes the cornerbacks and the safeties. Enjoy. *Cornerbacks- We start off with the guys that usually cover the receivers, the cornerbacks. The average Ram fan definitely would have had some satisfaction with the starters at the end of the season if it remained that way throughout the offseason and into the preseason. With one preseason game left to play, however, starting right corner Fakhir Brown is appealing [...]

Rams 2007: Defense (Part one of two)

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Rams have had problems on defense in the last couple of years, the only part of this team that many beleive are keeping them from winning this division. I will now preview the two parts of this defense that need help the most, the line and the linebackers. *Defensive Line-This is one of the big questions looming on defense, will the line be able to show some youth this year? Well, the team drafted defensive end Adam Carriker out of Nebraska to add some more youth to this line. Carriker is a solid lineman with hard working ability. He [...]

Rams Review: Preseason Week 3

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Last night in Oakland, the Rams lost their second preseason game to the Raiders, 20-10. The offense did not look good in this one. For the third time this preaseason, St. Louis failed to score a touchdown on offense. The game was plagued by three pass interference penalties against the Rams that allowed Oakland to take a 17-3 halftime lead at McAfee Colliseum. The good news, however, is that pro bowlers Torry Holt and Steven Jackson did not play in this game. The bad news is, against a team like the Raiders, the Rams showed they would need those two [...]

Have the Rams Returned?

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

The St. Louis Rams have made their mark over the last eight years as “The Greatest Show on Turf” with their Super Bowl win in 1999 and an appearance in the big game in 2001. However, that era has slowly come to an end in St. Louis as they showed that they are aging. For instance, think about the Rams wide receivers in those glory years. You had Issac Bruce and Torry Holt, who at the time were among the best wide outs in the NFL. Period. But to be honest, as a big Rams fan, Bruce has suffered a [...]

Steven Jackson: Running Back of the Future

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Steven Jackson had an amazing year in 2006. Action Jackson, as the fans call him in St. Louis, picked up more yards from scrimmage then anyone else in the NFL last season for the Rams. Even more then LaDanian Tomlinson, deemed the top player in the NFL last year, after winning his first MVP Award. Action, surprisingly enough made the list of MVP votes with one, and should be ready for a lot more if he performs as expected this year in a Rams offense that ranked fourth in the NFC last season, and sixth overall in the NFL. Jackson [...]
