St. Louis Rams Inactives List Against The Green Bay Packers

For the St. Louis Rams, the usual list of inactives is pretty well intact. Danny Amendola, Rodger Saffold, and Mario Haggan will all not be playing against the Green Bay Packers. However there are a couple of big changes in the lineup on the offensive line,

Hunter, who was been listed as “questionable” for the last couple of week with a knee injury, will miss his first game in a Rams uniform, nursing a back injury that has kept him out of practice all week. In his place will be Joe Barksdale, a third round pick by the Oakland Raider in 2011.

In a non-injury related move, Quinn Ojinnaka has been benched by the coaching staff, after a potentially game-changing performance against the Miami Dolphins last week (and not in a good way!). Shelley Smith will take over the left guard spot, a spot which had him as far down the depth chart as you could possibly be sitting. Originally, Rob Turner was the starter, but moved to center after Scott Wells got injured. The next in line was 2012 draftee Rok Watkins, who has since been placed on IR with an ankle injury and will not be returning this season. After Watkins injury, Ojinnaka, who was originally cut from the team, was brought back and given the starting role. Smith was on the team for that entire time and never saw the field, so it is interesting that they are turning to him now!

The inactives list for the Green Bay Packers remains the same, with three key starters out on defense. This could be an interesting test of depth for both teams, as the injuries to the Packers defense and Rams offensive line could have second and third string player going head to head in the game.
