No, Kurt Warner is not coming back to the promise land.

However, he is returning to football, high school football to be exact.

Warner will be joining the coaching staff at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, per the Arizona Republic.

Warner will serve as the team’s offensive coordinator under head coach Mike Morrissey and will bring one of the best offensive minds to high school football.

Since retiring from the NFL in 2009, Warner has teased fans several times at a possible NFL return, but sadly, it never materialized.

As you all know, Warner led the St. Louis Rams to their only Superbowl title in 1999 and was awarded the Superbowl MVP as well as the league MVP, becoming only the seventh player in NFL history to eclipse that feat.

“It’s crazy how much he’s helped me, from installing a new offense this year to teaching me how to read a defense and give us the best chance to succeed,” Nuessle said. “It just gets me excited to see how much more I can learn with two more years left. I’m just soaking up everything he teaches me.” – Nuessle

Warner was also recently inducted into the St. Louis sports Hall-of-Fame in late 2014.

All-in-all, Warner was awarded the league MVP twice and led the Rams to two super bowls in his 5-year stint with the Rams in the Early 2000’s

When rumors that Warner was taking his talents to high school football surfaced this week, it didn’t surprise many people.

Warner’s son, Kade Warner, a 6-foot-2 200 pound wide receiver will be a junior receiver/linebacker on the the team.

Junior quarterback Austin Nuessle will now learn from one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game and is expected to attract a lot of college attention moving forward.

It is safe to say that Desert Mountain High School is in great hands.
