Madden 2016 rookie player ratings

Football fans and video game enthusiasts alike are getting ready for the release of the newest addition to the Madden franchise with Madden 16 set to hit stores August 25, 2015. This years cover athlete will be wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the stand out rookie from the New York Giants last year. As it seems has become tradition, EA Sports has released the ratings of the top ten rookies from this years draft class proposed to have an impact for their new teams. We took a look to find out where our newest rookie, running back Todd Gurley, ended up.

77 OVR -Vic Beasley Jr. – DE – 8th overall selection – Atlanta Falcons

Beasley tops out with a rookie class best 92 Jumping to knock down passes, and peaks with an 87 Strength. At 6’3″, 246 lbs, Beasley is quick with 88 Speed and 89 Acceleration.

78 OVR – Marcus Mariota – QB – 2nd overall selection – Tennessee Titans

A little lower than most would expect for such a high draft pick, but certainly lives up to his double threat playing style. He was awarded a 90 Throw on the Run, and 79 Elusiveness. Watch out in the open field because his Speed came in at 88 with a 90 Acceleration.

78 OVR – Kevin White – WR – 7th overall selection – Chicago Bears

White was awarded the best hands with an 88 Catching, and some amazing Speed to go along with it at 94. 92 Acceleration and an 88 Agility round out this home run threat.

78 OVR – Melvin Gordon – RB – 15th overall selection – San Diego Chargers

Gordon tops all rookie backs with a 91 Speed. He pairs that with 88 Acceleration and 91 Spin move making him dangerous on the outside. However, he is limited between the tackles with a 69 Trucking.

79 OVR – Dante Fowler – DE – 3rd overall selection – Jacksonville Jaguars

Fowler was given an 89 Acceleration and an 83 Pursuit making him a quarterback rushing specialist. His sure hands earned him an 87 Tackle to round out a very complete package.

80 OVR – Brandon Scherff – OT – 5th overall selection – Washington Redskins

The best run blocking rookie in the game comes in with a 89 Run block and 83 Strength. He’s not too bad on the Pass block either with an 80.

80 OVR – Leonard Williams – DE – 6th overall selection – New York Jets

A beast when it comes to rushing the passer. Williams was given a 90 Block shedding and 87 Strength. His Power move and Pursuit rank highly as well with an 85 and 83 respectively.

80 OVR – Todd Gurley – RB – 10th overall selection – St. Louis Rams

Our very own Todd Gurley ranks as the best rookie back overall and includes 91 Speed, 87 Acceleration and a devastating 91 Trucking. Almost fumble proof at 91 Carry, players should watch out for his 73 Injury though.

81 OVR – Jameis Winston – QB – 1st overall selection – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 

Not quite the dual threat Mariota is, Winston has the rookie best 88 Throw Short Accuracy. He also has an impressive 95 Throw Power. He does have some limited mobility though with 81 Agility and 73 Speed.

82 OVR – Amari Cooper – WR – 4th overall selection – Oakland Raiders

Rated as the best rookie overall, Cooper brings a scorching 92 Speed, 94 Agility and a Catching second only to White at 87.
