With one of the league’s weakest receiving corps, the Los Angeles Rams should consider making a move for Torrey Smith.

Over the next 24 hours, teams will scramble to see if there’s any last-minute moves that can be made before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. As for the Los Angeles Rams, the team isn’t expected to make any drastic moves, but it may not be a bad idea for the team to consider a possible trade with the San Francisco 49ers for wide receiver Torrey Smith.

Thanks to the disappointing 1-6 start to the season by the 49ers, Smith has seen his name connected to numerous NFL teams in need of help at the wide receiver position over the last few weeks. While he may not have the size and strength as some of the other top wide receivers in the league, Smith has always proven to be a dangerous threat with his dangerous speed.

When looking at the current situation at wideout in Los Angeles, it’s safe to say a player like Smith would be capable of having an immediate impact playing alongside Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt.

The wide receiver position has been an absolute joke for the Rams this season, and it’s even taken a hit on the production of Todd Gurley as opponents find themselves stacking the box more to prevent last year’s Rookie of the Year from breaking loose. Los Angeles is a team with numerous areas in need of improvement, but when considering Smith is most likely on his way out of San Francisco no matter what, the Rams may as well take a shot by attempting to acquire the speedy wideout.
