With the 2016 regular season officially over, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff posted thanks fans on Twitter for their support, despite disappointing results.
Expectations were high for the Los Angeles Rams entering the 2016 season after trading up in the draft in order to select former California star quarterback Jared Goff, but unfortunately this year turned out to be a rough experience for the rookie. Between the Rams’ offense ranking at the bottom of the league by averaging less than 15 points per game to failing to earn his first career win, not even Goff could have predicted his rookie season would turn out to be this bad.

Clearly, Los Angeles has plenty of areas in need of fixing during the offseason, with the top priority finding a new head coach after the team finally made the decision to part ways with Jeff Fisher. For a head coach that failed to record a winning season in five years with the Rams, the decision to fire Fisher was long overdue, as the team managed to take a major step back in 2016, despite finishing 7-9 the year before.
Despite all of the struggles from his rookie season, deep down Goff knows the experience he earned this year will pay off in the long run. And to top it off, it’s good to see Goff doing everything he can to remain positive about a disappointing rookie season, and be appreciative of the fans that stuck around through it all.
Not the way we wanted things to go this yr. Want to thank the fans who stuck by us thru it. Great things lie ahead for this group! #GoRams

Hopefully, Goff turns out to be right about great things lying ahead for the Rams as the 2017 offseason will be key to this team turning things around next year. Of course, if Goff has any say in what Los Angeles could do to make sure that happens, it’s safe to say bringing in a star wide receiver through free agency or the draft ranks near the top of the quarterback’s list.
