Bradford Blitz: What’s Going On With The St. Louis Rams Quarterback
When the St. Louis Rams promoted new offensive coordinator, Frank Cignetti, Jeff Fisher stood by Sam Bradford and the team’s commitment to him. Fisher even said that he had talked to Bradford before hiring Cignetti.
One week later and that may not be the case.
According to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, Bradford’s agent, Tom Condon, has gotten permission to speak to other teams for a trade. However, given the shallow talent pool in this year’s draft and free agency classes, finding a team that would compensate the Rams to their liking would be difficult, La Canfora noted in the report.

Rams general manager, Les Snead then denied the report Wednesday at the combine during his press conference saying, “He’s a good player. If some team was interested I certainly don’t blame them. But I’ll stick to what I said earlier, deleting him is not the answer.”
Earlier in the press conference Snead said that the answer was not to delete Bradford from the roster, but rather to provide insurance around the position and see if he can reach his full potential.
Whether or not this report is true is uncertain as Snead did deny it and it is coming from La Canfora who likes to stir up the leaves, but even so, it isn’t something to completely throw out. If the Rams have a good answer to replacing Bradford, then trading him to acquire more picks would make sense.
For starters it would save them a lot of money. Secondly, they only have five picks in this year’s draft therefore trading Bradford could give them an extra high pick or two. They probably wouldnt get a first round pick like they would have three years ago, but a conditional second round pick is very likely.
Snead also pointed out that the team wants to have Bradford back in 2015 and that he plans to “chat” with the quarterback’s representatives about his contract, but stopped well short of saying that Bradford’s definitely the starter upon returning from two torn ACLs. “I can’t say he’s top of the depth chart because he’s missed 25 [of the last 32] games,” Snead pointed out.
