How Many St. Louis Rams Will Make The Pro Bowl In 2015?

More from Ramblin' Fan

Dating back to 2007, The St. Louis Rams have had just seven players selected to a pro bowl. In 2014, the Denver Broncos had nine. But, the Rams have had four of their seven selected in the past two years alone.

The Rams had two pro bowlers in 2014. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald made the team as a rookie while defensive end Robert Quinn was also selected. In 2013, punter Johnny Hekker made his first pro bowl while Quinn was also selected from the Rams.

No Rams were selected in 2012 or 2011, but In 2010 and 2009, running back Steven Jackson was selected. Nobody was selected from the Rams in 2008, but in 2007, Torry Holt was nabbed.

The Rams may just have their best roster in the past 10 years, so how many Rams should make it in 2015/16?

I fully expect the Rams to have somewhere between 3-6 players selected, if not more.

Here are my clear-cut pro bowlers for the upcoming season.

1) Robert Quinn

2) Aaron Donald

3) Alec Ogletree

These three players have been their, done that with the exception of Ogletree. Ogletree has been snubbed two years running, but if he puts up his usual numbers, there is no way the NFL will snub him for a third year in a row.

Quinn would be making his third consecutive appearance while Donald would be making his second in a row as well. With the defense continuing to grow, their are no signs showing that offensive lines will be able to slow up any of these three players. Quinn will easily hit the 10-sack mark while Donald should hover around that number as well. Ogletree will hit 100 tackles plus and make a huge impact in their pass coverage. Ogletree’s speed is one of a kind. His third year in the NFL will be one to remember.

Now for the players on the fence.

1) Nick Foles

2) Todd Gurley

3) E.J Gaines

4) Tavon Austin

5) James Laurinaitis

It would not shock me whatsoever if all five of these players were playing in the 2015 pro bowl. They are all great players, and have the talent to make it. Foles won the Pro Bowl MVP award in 2013 and Gurley just might have a monster season as a rookie. Gaines continues to impress while Austin could very well have a breakout season. Laurinaitis seems to always get snubbed, but this may be his year to finally get selected. You could also make a case for any of the other receivers or a couple more player on defense such as Janoris Jenkins. I did not select Jenkins for the sure fact that his hit-or-miss style most likely makes the NFL question whether he is what we call “elite.” They would argue that if every cornerback took as many risks as he does, that they too would get several interceptions. But, nonetheless, Jenkins seems to make more good decisions than bad, giving him a solid shot at a pro bowl selection.

If you disagree with my list, please comment below who you would select and why. Please feel free to send your answers to our twitter account as well. We would love to here who you would pick. But, i’m sure we can all agree that this will be the most Rams selected in quite some time.
