St. Louis Rams Gelling Very Nicely At OTAs

In what has been an outstanding 2015 offseason, the St. Louis Rams are looking very strong heading into the regular season starting in September.

The Rams’ players have accepted newly acquired quarterback Nick Foles with open arms. So far, Foles’ new receiving corps have raved over his ability to throw a football.

“We love Nick Foles. Great deep ball, he puts it on the money every time. He can throw every pass in the book.” – Kenny Britt

Rams tight end Jared Cook added that, “I’m so glad he’s here. I love that he’s here. “I love what he brings to us, and I love the fact that he’s just an up tempo, positive guy.”

Foles was also very well liked by his Eagles teammates while with Philadelphia, but the same could not be said from his former head coach, Chip Kelly.

It was reported last November that Foles was no longer in the long-term plans of the Eagles, and was then traded to the Rams in exchange for former St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford.

This trade so far has really made an impact on the Rams, especially the receiving corps, which has everyone very excited to get to work at OTA’s.

While first round pick Todd Gurley isn’t able to participate in team drills at OTA’s, that isn’t keeping him from getting work in. Gurley has been working on mostly linear work, such as high leg kicks and running which doesn’t require him to move laterally. During last Thursday’s OTA, Gurley ran at about 50 percent, and caught some passes from rookie quarterback, Sean Mannion.

“I feel good. I just can’t play football right now.” “I’m running around and doing agility stuff. It’s just day by day.” – Gurley

There has been no timetable set for Gurley’s return, but it is clear that Gurley is well on his way to returning sooner, rather than later.

As far as the team goes, everything is progressing as good as it can, and is shaping up for a very good training camp and preseason for the Rams.
