It is no secret that the St. Louis Rams need offensive help. The Rams haven’t had an elite wide receiver since Torry Holt retired in 2008. But, the Rams may just have a chance to fix that at the end of the 2015 season. Dez Bryant will be an unrestricted free agent and will have free range to choose whatever team he want’s to play for in 2016.
His current team, the Dallas Cowboys used their one and only franchise tag on Bryant for the 2015 season, but as we all know, he can be quite stubborn and vocal about a range of things. Bryant has yet to sign his 11 plus million dollar franchise tag contract that will keep him a Cowboy for one more season, and is showing no signs of signing anytime soon.
All of this has nothing to do with 2016, but it further shows how disgruntled Bryant is with Cowboy’s Jerry Jones and the rest of the organization. This is great news for the rest of the NFL, because when he is on the field, he is one of the best wide receivers in the league.
If the Rams are able to turn heads in the 2015 season, St. Louis very well might be a top destination for Bryant to want to play for. And I hate to say it, but the possibility of St. Louis shipping their team off to Los Angeles may entice Bryant even more. The bets case scenario would be for Bryant to hope the team leaves for L.A, but doesn’t, leaving the great city of St. Louis with a top five wide receiver, a great quarterback in Nick Foles, a scary good duo of running backs, Todd Gurley and Tre Mason and a top 10 defense.
Bryant’s issues have always been off the field rather than on the field. Bryant has never sustained a major injury as he has started all 16 games in two consecutive seasons. Bryant has not had an off the field issue since 2012, so NFL teams should have no worries whatsoever about having to deal with Bryant getting into big trouble.
Sure, he will run his mouth a few times a year and have it talked about on ESPN, but who cares, it’s ESPN?
