The Los Angeles Rams are searching for answers heading into a pivotal game against the New Orleans Saints.

After a disappointing ending to a game that was seemingly in hand, the Los Angeles Rams are left searching for answers after another frustrating loss in Week 11, this time to the Miami Dolphins. The running game was so-so as Todd Gurley finally had a run over 20 yards.

While Gurley did notch a 24-yard touchdown early in the first quarter, he struggled the rest of the day as he only averaged 3.8 yards per carry against the Dolphins. What’s even worse is Gurley only averaged 2.74 yards per carry if you don’t count his touchdown run.

Once again, the defense let a great performance go to waste with another fourth quarter meltdown as they contained Ryan Tannehill and Miami’s offense all day until the last two drives of the game. Those last two drives yielded 152 of the Dolphins’ 240 total yards on the afternoon.

With the Rams’ offense struggling to score, the defense simply can’t let this happen.

Of course, the story of the day was the first career start of rookie quarterback Jared Goff. The No. 1 pick’s performance was lackluster at best after only throwing for 134 yards while finishing with a final quarterback rating was 65.8. He did not impress, nor did he provide the spark the Rams’ offense desperately needed.

This Sunday, the Rams will take on the New Orleans Saints looking for their fifth win of the season. It appears to be a good time to be facing the 27th-ranked defense in the league. If Los Angeles fails to win, it will all but end their hopes of a playoff run. A loss could also seal the doomed fate of head coach Jeff Fisher as he inches closer to the NFL record of most losses all time.
