Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Greg Robinson had his family in attendance while he was benched for the Week 12 game against the New Orleans Saints.
Greg Robinson rode the pine in Week 12 as his family looked on during the Los Angeles Rams’ game against the New Orleans Saints.
Robinson, who is a native of Louisiana, still has family there and invited his relatives to Sunday’s blowout loss to the Saints.
Sadly for his family, Robinson never made it on the field. He was a healthy scratch after head coach Jeff Fisher decided to bench him.
Here’s a picture of Robinson with his family on Sunday at the Superdome:
Talk about adding insult to injury. Robinson had to be benched for the first time since being taken No. 2 overall by the Rams in 2014 with his family looking on. You have to wonder if this was done on purpose by Fisher, which would surprise no one.
Perhaps that’s why Robinson was so upset with the media last week, to the point that he ignored them altogether in one instance.

While it’s unfortunate that Robinson had to deal with that embarrassment, he has played badly all season long and has been the most penalized player in the NFL over the last two years. Something needed to give.
Robinson’s benching won’t last long, though. Fisher has already said he expects Robinson to start at left tackle this week against the New England Patriots, ending what was a short punishment for a long-term problem.
We’ll see how Robinson responds.
