Los Angeles Rams Owner Stan Kroenke has released a statement in regards to the firing of the team’s head coach, Jeff Fisher.

The Los Angeles Rams have fired their head coach, Jeff Fisher, and the team released a statement shortly after it was reported.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen was the first to report the news, and Rams owner Stan Kroenke released a statement verifying the report.

Here is what Kroenke had to say about Fisher’s time in Los Angeles and St. Louis, and the move to let him go, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Fisher was a dreadful 31-45-1 in five seasons as the team’s head coach. He never enjoyed a winning season with the Rams and he had become an utter embarrassment at the helm.

After the team’s Week 14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Fisher tied the NFL record for most losses by a head coach. Thankfully, he won’t earn the dubious distinction of being the losingest head coach in NFL history while roaming the Rams’ sidelines.

Whether it was his questionable decisions on the field, his excuses, or even his alienation of Rams legend Eric Dickerson, Fisher had fallen out of favor with fans in many different ways.

And, on top of all that, he wasn’t winning games, which was his biggest problem.

What’s more important is the Rams now have to start looking for a permanent head coach, which likely won’t be done until after this season ends. Whoever it is, they can’t be worse than Fisher.
