Jeff Fisher has released a statement after being fired by the team on Monday.
Former Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has released his first statement since being fired by the team on Monday.
Fisher, who had five losing seasons with the Rams before being fired by the team after a brutal Week 14 loss, thanked his players and owner Stan Kroenke in a statement released on Tuesday:
"“First and foremost, I want to thank Stan Kroenke for the opportunity to be part of this organization the last four and a half years. I want to thank the entire football staff as it has been a privilege to work with each one of them day in and day out. I especially want to thank all the players. They are a great group of men that I respect, and that I will greatly miss. My hope is that each one of the players experience great success in the future.”"
Fisher compiled a 31-45-1 record as Rams head coach before getting canned. The team has announced that special teams coordinator John Fassel will be the interim head coach for the remainder of the 2016 season.
Rams COO Kevin Demoff didn’t guarantee the return of general manager Les Snead, which means there may be more heads to roll after the season is over. Based on what we’ve seen from the team this season, major changes are warranted from the top down.
As far as who the Rams will pursue remains to be seen, but there are already rumors and speculation swirling about several different coaches who could fill the void. Check out some of our stories below for some of the latest rumors.
