The Los Angeles Rams have a lot of ways they would like tonight to go, but the NFL Draft script is always unpredictable.

For the Los Angeles Rams, tonight’s script for the NFL Draft may not prove to be predictable, whereas last year, they had their guy “all sewn up,” on opening night.  If yesterday is any indication, tonight may take Los Angeles in another direction, depending where Green Bay, Seattle, Jacksonville, or Chicago may go.

Especially, and most importantly, where certain receivers may go.

As of this morning, the consensus was that Zay Jones was the best available at that position. For the Rams, that may be a name called sooner than the 37th pick. Based on whom you read, the player Los Angeles seems most likely “fated” to is USC conductor JuJu Smith Schuster.

But what happens if he’s gone also?

Next man up at that position may be Curtis Samuel from Ohio State.

But a more likely scenario if both Jones and Smith-Schuster are off the board, is the Rams turning to offensive line help next and possible a player for the defensive backfield. Forrest Lamp, a guard from Western Kentucky is a name that keeps popping up on mock draft boards and, quite frankly, is a guy the Rams both like and would fill a need almost as critically as wide receiver.

After that, expect defense to get a good and long look. Two names to keep close are DeMarcus Walker from Florida State, and Washington Safety Budda Baker.
