Rams’ Aaron Donald rated highest DE for Madden 18

In what shouldn’t be a surprise to football fans, Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams is the highest rated defensive end in Madden 18.

With the Los Angeles Rams preparing for Saturday’s preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys, there’s no question that not having Aaron Donald present is becoming a major concern, as the defensive superstar continues to holdout for a new contract. Numbers wise, it’s easy to understand why Donald is holding out since he’s quickly established a reputation for being one of the league’s top defensive players, which is just one of many reasons why he has such a high rating in the upcoming Madden 18 video game.

FanSided’s own Derek Helling recently discussed the top five players at each position for the latest edition of the popular EA Sports video game, and when it came to the best defensive ends, Donald was right there on top of the list with an overall rating of 99 due to his speed and strength. This time of year is always exciting for football fans when it comes to the latest edition of Madden being released, and unlike real life at the moment, at least Rams fans can at least enjoy seeing Donald in the video game.

Earlier in the week, it was tough to see Donald’s name left off the first depth chart for Los Angeles heading into the preseason since he’s technically not active at the moment due to the holdout. Between his 28 sacks over the last three seasons to leading the league in 2016 with 31 quarterback hits, the Rams better hope Donald’s holdout comes to an end sooner rather than later.

Words can’t even describe the importance of having Donald in the lineup, as the team heads into the 2017 season with Wade Phillips as the new defensive coordinator under Sean McVay, especially after losing Dominique Easley to a torn ACL earlier in training camp. Not many players can say they earned a perfect rating in Madden, but this just shows how special of a player Donald truly is, and it’s painful to see this holdout last as long as it has.
