The Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver ended up catching the game-winning touchdown pass from Sean Mannion during Saturday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.

Saturday’s preseason game against the Oakland Raiders was a major test for the Los Angeles Rams when it comes to showing how they look against a playoff-caliber team, and believe it or not, Sean McVay‘s squad came through in the 24-21 victory. Not only did the first-team offense look impressive thanks to Jared Goff, but even some of the backups deserve credit for helping pull off an epic comeback towards the end of the game, especially Josh Reynolds.

In what ended up being the difference maker in the game, Reynolds hauled in the game-winning touchdown catch from 20 yards out with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter following an impressive throw from Sean Mannion. What’s even more impressive for the rookie was this ended up being the first career catch for Reynolds after the former Texas A&M star missed last weekend’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, so that should help his stock a bit moving forward.

After battling a quadriceps injury for a few weeks, Reynolds made his return to practice last week for the Rams, and wasted no time receiving heavy praise thanks to showing off his skills during practice. And even though this was only one performance during a preseason game, Reynolds is already making a strong case when it comes to earning one of the key roster spots for Los Angeles at wide receiver.

With all of the hype surrounding the selection of Cooper Kupp in this year’s NFL Draft, let’s not forget how confident the Rams also felt about landing a steal in Reynolds as well. Based off his numbers from the last three seasons with the Aggies (164 catches for 2,788 yards to go along with 30 touchdowns), there’s a good chance Reynolds ends up being another favorite target for Jared Goff to work with if he continues to shine over these final two weeks of preseason.
