Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley looks to find the end zone for the fourth game in a row during Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Through three games, the offense of the Los Angeles Rams has been one of the biggest surprises so far during the 2017 NFL season, as the unit has played a key role in the team sitting on top of the NFC West at the moment with a 2-1 record. Between an improved receiving corps to Jared Goff quickly picking up Sean McVay‘s offense, there have been numerous reasons behind the success of the Rams’ offense turning things around after finishing at the bottom of the league in 2016 by only averaging 14 points per game.

However, the argument can be made that no player has made a bigger impact for Los Angeles so far on offense than running back Todd Gurley when looking at the numbers he’s put together through three games. Not only is the former first-round pick coming off his first 100-yard rushing game since 2015 against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3, but Gurley has already made six trips into the end zone this season, with two of those scores coming through the air.

That’s right, Gurley is playing a valuable role for the Rams on offense by being just as effective at receiver to give Goff numerous ways to use him on offense. And with a tough matchup on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, chances are McVay will look to use his star running back as much as possible since how well Gurley plays could determine whether the Rams have a shot or not to pull off the win.

Watching Gurley already match his touchdown total from a year ago has been amazing for Los Angeles, but the team would love nothing more than to see him increase his streak of trips into the end zone to four on Sunday against Dallas. Better yet, if that were to happen for Gurley on numerous occasions, the Rams may actually have a chance at pulling off the upset on the road against the Cowboys to 3-1.
